Welcome back to the May 2016 Edition of Spiritual Growth Monthly. I’m Kevin Schoeninger. It’s great to have you with us here at SGM!

In this week’s message, I guide you on a meditative journey to The Inventor’s Library—a place you can visit to solve any problem, issue, or challenge in your life! This meditation is adapted from suggestions by Penney Peirce in her intuitive training manual, “The Intuitive Way,” (Beyond Words, Second Edition, 2009, p.181-182).
I think you’ll have fun with this one and you may be surprised at the answers you discover! You can follow along with the guided audio above.
After you finish, I would love to hear about your experiences or any questions you have in our Discussion below.
Enjoy!
“The Inventor’s Library”
If you will, please join me in sitting comfortably upright in a quiet, private environment. Place the soles of your feet flat on the floor and parallel to each other. Rest your hands, palms up or down, whichever you prefer, on your legs. Lightly close your eyes.
Imagine a string attached to the top of your head, drawing your spine gently upright.
Take a few slow, deep breaths to relax your body and come into the present moment.
Now, call to mind a current issue, problem, or challenge in your life. Though there may be more than one, choose just one to work with for now. You can repeat the meditation with other issues later, if you wish. Choose one issue to work with now. . .
Once you have one issue in mind, state your intention to discover a solution to this issue by visiting The Inventor’s Library—a place where the solution to every problem and concern is available. You might say to yourself, “I am ready to discover the solution to this issue of _______ in The Inventor’s Library.”
Now, in the clear space in front of you, imagine a huge stone library high up on a hill. Walk up the path to the Inventor’s Library and then up the steps to the giant front doors. There’s a guard there who smiles and opens the door for you.
Inside, you enter a large, circular, light-filled, open space with a high glass-domed ceiling. You notice endless corridors extending from that central space in all directions, stretching as far as you can see. Skylights above the corridors illuminate them in perfect clarity.
As you scan around the corridors, one in particular glows with an especially promising light. You decide to walk down that corridor and gaze at the shelves.
On the shelves is an endless array of boxes of all shapes, sizes, colors, and materials. Some are wooden and ancient, some are modern and shiny. Some are so big you might have to lower them with a forklift, some are so tiny you could hold them between your thumb and index finger.
As you walk down this corridor, allow your body to decide how far to walk and when to stop. Feel free to just wander and browse for a while, if you desire. The boxes are so interesting that you wonder what is inside each one. It makes for a fascinating tour.
At a certain point, your body stops, and one specific box calls your attention. It has a magic glow about it. You point to that box and it magically slides off the shelf and comes down to waist level on a viewing table which has also magically appeared. The viewing table rolls down the aisle to a private viewing room.
In the viewing room, you study the outside of the box and notice any clues to what might be inside. You take the lid off and examine the contents closely with a curious fascination. What is this?
If the object is large, you notice that it raises up so you can see all around it. If the object is small, you pick it up in your hands and examine it on all sides.
You notice there’s an instruction sheet tucked in with the invention. On it is the title of the invention and instructions on how to use it as a solution to your issue. Take a few moments to gaze at this invention and read the instructions. . . How could this invention be a symbol for something you need in your life right now? . . .
Notice anything that comes to mind . . .
If you have any difficulty understanding this solution, you can ring a buzzer and a guide appears who explains it further. . .
Notice whatever comes to mind. . . any feelings and sensations in your body. . . and any actions you feel inspired to take. . .
Now, thank this invention and your guide, if you called one in. Take one last look at the invention to record it in your mind. Smile with appreciation.
Now, turn to exit the viewing room, and return down the corridor to the entrance hall, walk through the front doors, and stand at the top of the steps. Take a moment to gaze out on your life in the valley below from this high vantage point. Imagine taking your solution with you down the steps, down the path, and into your life. . .
Slowly, open your eyes and take in the space around you. Take a few moments to sketch or write about the invention you discovered and how you might use it as a solution to your issue.
Well done!
