Welcome Members to our November “Question of the Month.” Kevin Schoeninger here.

This month, we’ve been discussing material from Roy Eugene Davis’ book entitled “The Spiritual Basis of Real Prosperity” (SBORP). Last week, we discussed Mr. Davis’ Eight Success Principles to achieve prosperity consciousness and grow your ideal possibilities. This week, we explore two powerful techniques that neutralize the negative thoughts and internal chatter that can get in the way of putting those principles into practice. These practices are Superconscious Meditation and Creative Imagination.

Before we get to the details of these practices, let’s talk about the driving intention that makes for success in any of these pursuits. Mr. Davis tells us that the aspiration to Self (capital “S”) or God realization is life’s central purpose. Everything else we do is in service to this spiritual intention.

In his words, “Only a perception of the sacred, of that which evokes a response of veneration or reverent regard, can satisfy the soul and thereby enrich our lives. Without it, though we might possess everything else a person could want in the world, in our quiet moments alone with our thoughts, we know that our lives are barren.” (p.55, SBORP)

From our first Weekly Message this month, we know that the sacred insight that Mr. Davis speaks of is the realization that we are a part of the One Field of Infinite Consciousness. To be established in and live from that awareness at all times is the goal of spiritual practice.

With this meaning context as a backdrop, let’s explore two of Mr. Davis’ key practices: superconscious meditation and creative imagination. Superconscious meditation is the heart of Kriya Yoga. Mr. Davis describes the stages of preparation and practice as follows:

Eight Stages of Preparation and Practice for Superconscious Meditation:
(p.57, SBORP)

1. Ethical living

2. Adherence to practices which contribute to physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.

3. Sitting in an upright relaxed posture with eyes closed in a quiet environment.

4. Using a meditation technique to relax the body, balance the emotions, and quiet the mind.

5. Internalization of attention, withdrawal of attention from the outer world.

6. Concentration on a meditation object or ideal.

7. The meditative state itself, which occurs when attention flows smoothly, without interruption, and is unwavering.

8. Superconsciousness, which is clarified, tranquil awareness of Being.

It is interesting to note that the first two stages of preparation for meditation have to do with actions in everyday life. One of the foundations of Kriya Yoga is that right living is essential to spiritual practice. Your life activity must be an integral expression of your spiritual intention in order to progress on the spiritual path. Meditation accompanied by living in an unconscious, haphazard, or hypocritical way hinders both your meditation and your spiritual growth.

Mr. Davis suggests meditating once or twice a day for 15-30 minutes. Consistent daily practice is the key to neutralizing negative influences and experiencing satisfying results. As he says, “superconscious states are progressively refined. Their superior influences weaken and neutralize addictive tendencies and destructive subconscious conditionings, organize mental processes, purify the intellect, and illumine the meditator’s field of awareness. In the course of time, superconsciousness blends with and transforms ordinary states of self-conscious awareness, unveiling the soul’s intuitive powers and allowing cosmic consciousness—perception of the wholeness of life—to be the normal state.” (p.63, SBORP)

Mr. Davis tells us that superconscious meditation is a natural ability that will unfold given the right preparation and the right practice. Superconsciousness is a skill anyone can develop.

Once you are established in superconscious awareness, such as at the end of a meditation session, it is the ideal time to practice creative imagination to realize your ideal possibilities. With that in mind, it’s time to take out your ideal possibility sheet from last week and do some conscious work with it.

The process of using your creative imagination is supported by three principles. When you understand these principles, you will have faith that creative imagination can work. Your faith in the process is essential to its’ effectiveness. Also essential is remembering the realization that you are a part of the One Life that we all share. Because of that, the resources of the whole are available to you.

The three principles that flow from your spiritual realization are, in the words of Mr. Davis (p.74, SBORP):

1. “We attract—and are attracted to—relationships, events, and circumstances which are compatible with our states of consciousness and mental states.

2. Events can be caused to occur and circumstances can be manifested by desire and intention.

3. Because the universe responds to our desires and needs, the easiest way to have desires fulfilled and needs met is to, with faith, acknowledge them to be already actualized.”

Take time to understand and believe those points before you move on to practice creative imagination. When you are ready, here are:

The Three Steps of the Creative Imagination Process:

1. Meditate to the point of superconsciousness or tranquil, clear awareness.

2. Form a clear image of your ideal possibility. Imagine and feel what it would be like if this possibility was already realized right here and now. Use all your senses to bring that feeling into your body. Stay with it until you experience a shift in viewpoint such that you fully experience that reality.

3. Release your ideal possibility to the Universe for the best outcome and take action as you are inspired to make it real today.

Consistent practice of the combination of
meditation with creative imagination followed by appropriate action
is the real secret to manifesting the ideal possibilities you are meant to live.

When you are inspired with an ideal possibility, have faith that the resources to realize that possibility are available to you. Your task is to let of your self-limiting beliefs (meditation will help with that), adjust your consciousness to a spiritual perspective (meditation and creative imagination will help with that), and take effective action.

My suggestion for you this week, if you haven’t done so already, is to establish a daily meditation practice using a technique that works well for you. At the conclusion of your meditation session, practice creative imagination with one of your ideal possibilities. Then, follow your inner guidance for inspired action. Your inner guidance becomes sharper and more refined as you use it.

As we’ve discussed in previous months, one of the ways to receive this guidance is to tune into the space of your heart, and ask yourself direct questions. Then, be patient and attentive for the feelings, images, and inner nudges that emerge.

If you are looking for a guided meditation that is structured to help you practice in the way I’ve described, check out my latest program called RAISE YOUR VIBRATION: A Guide to Core Energy Meditation. Matt and I are launching this program at the end of this month. Stay tuned for details.

Also, remember to mark your calendars for our Group Coaching Call next Sunday, November 23rd. I look forward to hearing from you on that call and in the Comment section below this message.

Until next time,

Happy Practicing,

Kevin
